Main Responsibilities:

As a Construction Estimator, your excellent analytical skills will allow you to accurately estimate the costs of the work and the resources needed to complete projects. Thanks to your proactive attitude, you will make judicious suggestions to improve our processes in terms of tenders.

More specifically, you will have to:

Analyze and interpret plans and tenders, then estimate project costs;
Study and analyze received tenders, recommend their acceptance or refusal and negotiate prices and contracts with various stakeholders;
Ensure to gather all relevant information for each construction project and follow up internally;
Communicate and discuss with the client and various stakeholders to inform them about cost changes and adjustments;
Provide advice on bidding procedures;
Establish and maintain bidding, control and reporting systems and procedures;
Prepare and maintain directories of suppliers, subcontractors and other industry professionals.

Qualifications:

The person we are looking for stands out for their strong analytical and synthesis skills. Friendly and respectful, they offer the best possible customer service.

Education: AEC in building or construction estimating; DEC in construction or architecture; or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience;
Excellent proficiency in AutoCAD software;
In-depth knowledge of the standards and codes of the Régie du Bâtiment du Québec;
Professional experience in the industrial and commercial sectors;
Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

Will be considered as assets:

Knowledge of General Estimator software;
Experience in the agri-food sector;
Knowledge of SketchUp software;
Bilingualism.
