Preconstruction Project Manager
The Frare Gallant group, a general contractor in specialized construction, is looking for a preconstruction project manager
Your Mission:
Reporting to the Vice President of Strategy and Preconstruction, you will be responsible for project analysis with the estimating team and preparing projects before transfer to the construction project manager.
Main Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the estimating team to cover all project elements while respecting budget and deadlines;
- Analyze plans to identify potential issues;
- Propose concrete and economical solutions to facilitate project construction;
- Develop the preliminary construction schedule;
- Work with the Estimating Manager in preparing the final version of the contract and assist with planning the meeting/presentation to the client;
- Be the bridge between the estimating and construction departments for project start-up with the project manager;
- Help and support construction project managers;
- Take the initiative to hire consultants and coordinate meetings;
- Build and maintain relationships with local subcontractors;
- Organize all project documentation with Procore and the internal filing system;
- Prepare monthly reports per project for tracking purposes;
- Prepare meeting agendas and review agenda objectives;
- Participate in project post-mortems to review positives and negatives for continuous improvement purposes;
- Coordinate the preconstruction process for each project including municipal planning, zoning, site plans, approvals and permits;
- All other tasks related to the management of a construction project.
Ideal Profile:
- 7+ years of experience as a project manager for construction projects in the institutional / commercial / industrial industry;
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering – an asset;
- Experience in a similar position;
- Excellent project management skills;
- Have health and safety at work at the heart of their concerns;
- Excellent proficiency in French and English, both written and oral;
- Strong communication skills;
- Knowledge of the following software: Office suite, Outlook, Maestro, AutoCAD, Revit, Procore, and General Estimator (an asset), MS Project.
